Hi there, I am Jonathan I am a mechanical engineer who took a leap of faith and made a courageous transition into the world of software development. Growing up in Africa, access to computers was limited, and the conventional career options for me were narrowed down to being a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Given my lack of interest in biology and my perception of lawyers, engineering became my best and only choice. However, it is a field that I am genuinely passionate about and still deeply in love with to this day.
During a break from university, as I sought something new and intriguing to delve into (I make it a personal tradition to acquire or develop a new skill during holidays), I stumbled upon a book called "Beginning Programming for Dummies" by Wallace Wang. This book introduced me to programming concepts and it's countless possibilities, and it marked the beginning of my captivating journey into the world of coding. Naturally, I devoured its contents, eagerly supplementing my learning with countless YouTube tutorials from remarkable channels such as EJ Media and Edureka, as well as other valuable public platforms.
Despite the demanding nature of my engineering studies, I made a conscious effort to explore this newfound and captivating realm. Over time, I have worked with ReactJS, Next.js, and JavaScript to develop various web applications.
After months of self-teaching, I joined forces with a software developer to create websites for a local medical oxygen supplier and my church. It was then that my mind and heart aligned, affirming that web development was no longer just a hobby but the chosen path for me to serve businesses, organizations, and anyone else I could assist in leaving their mark on the world.
I have grown tremendously as a developer, and my hunger for growth remains insatiable. I am actively seeking out opportunities to contribute my skills, leveraging the power of code to simplify and optimize everyday life. By bringing ideas to life through my coding abilities, I strive to make a meaningful difference and enhance efficiency wherever possible.
